Share photographs or documents
Upload one or more images, or drag them into the form. Include the back of a postcard if it has writing, a date or a publisher’s name.
Tell us what you know about the material and where it came from. It is fine to leave gaps if you are unsure.
You keep the original
If you need help scanning an original or sending a larger file, leave us a message and we will get in touch. Please agree arrangements with us before sending anything by post.
Sharing for discussion does not grant publication permission. We agree that separately.
Share a memory or story
Tell us what you remember, roughly when and where it happened, and whether you were there yourself or heard the story from someone else. You do not need to have every detail.

Scanning
Help make useful digital copies of photographs and postcards, including both sides. We will discuss arrangements with you and how to care for originals before any visit.
Review archive content
Check a small batch of captions, transcriptions or dates against supplied evidence. Flag uncertainty and suggest corrections for a steward to review.
Research village history
Investigate one question about a street, shop or village event using maps, newspapers or catalogues. Keep the source reference with each finding.
Read the back of a postcard
Copy the words, publisher marks and postmark. Mark unclear writing as unclear.
Help record a memory
Agree with the contributor what may be recorded, shared and credited. Keep their own words and uncertainty.

Photographers, web developers and 3D artists can help us plan and build the next stage.
Contributor contact details and permission records stay private.
Corrections, privacy and removals
Tell us what needs attention.
If a fact is wrong, an image concerns you, or you would like something obscured or removed, please contact us privately. You do not need to prove ownership or grant publication permission to raise a concern.
How we handle your contribution
Your originals remain yours
We preserve the source copy and record where it came from. Public images are separate copies, with location and camera metadata removed and any agreed obscuring applied.
Permission and credit are separate choices
You can share material privately, choose whether it may be published, and choose a name, another credit or no public credit. Newsletter preferences are separate again.
Private information stays with the stewards
We use your contact details to handle your enquiry and agreed involvement. We share only the material a volunteer needs for an assigned task.
An archive for future research
We catalogue photographs, documents and recollections with clear descriptions, source details and permanent references. This helps researchers find and cite material, and connect it with other archives. Material is shared only in line with the permissions agreed with contributors.
You can change your mind
Ask for a correction, obscuring, removal, or deletion of your contact details through the corrections and removals form. We will explain any record we still need to retain to honour a withdrawal. We can remove material from the site we control, but cannot recall copies already saved or shared elsewhere.
We respect personal privacy
Please avoid sending unnecessary personal details about other living people. We discuss sensitive material privately before deciding what to share.
We also collect simple website statistics: daily page-view totals, referring websites and the response to links we share. These statistics use no cookies and store no IP addresses or individual visitor profiles.
